Be Strong and Courageous – It’s Time to Rise Again

Hey friends,

This week, I want to remind you (and myself) of something powerful: God never calls us to something without giving us the strength to walk it out.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Maybe like me, you’ve had seasons where fear crept in. Maybe shame from your past, judgment from others, or the weight of life made you step back, stay silent, or hide the light inside of you. But God is calling us to be strong, courageous, and fortified in faith—not because we have it all together, but because He is with us wherever we go.

💪 What Does It Mean to Be Strong and Courageous in Faith?

The Hebrew word used in Joshua 1:9 for “be strong” is ‘amats’ (Strong’s #522). It means to be bold, alert, and brave—not just physically, but spiritually. It’s the strength that rises even when fear is present. And at the same time, God is removing what hinders us.

The Greek word ‘apaireó’ (Strong’s #522) means to take away, to remove. God is not just calling you forward—He’s clearing your path. Shame? Removed! Fear? Broken! Judgment? Cancelled! Burdens? Lifted!

He is saying: “I’ve got you. Walk forward in FAITH!”

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the reminder that we don’t have to face life alone. You’ve commanded us to be strong and courageous—not in our own strength, but in Yours. Today, we lay down shame, fear, and the weight of judgment at Your feet. Fill us with boldness and renew our faith so we can walk forward confidently in Your will.

Father, let every reader who finds this post feel Your presence and know they are never alone. Remind them that You are the One who removes every burden and goes before them.
